Freeholder Rob HermansenFreeholder Robert G. Hermansen was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in November 2009. He is currently the Chairman of both the Law and Public Safety Committee and Health Services Committee; and is on the Planning and Economic Development Committee and Labor and Personnel Committee, and serves as the Cultural and Historic Affairs Liaison to the Department of Parks. As a Freeholder, he serves on the Board of the Bergen County Community Action Partnership; the Planning Board; the BC Economic Development Corporation; the National Association of Counties; and is the liaison to the Utilities Authority.

From 2006-2009, Freeholder Hermansen was a Councilman for the Township of Mahwah, NJ. He served as the Council Vice President and Liaison to the Board of Education.

Robert is a Financial Advisor with a major brokerage firm. He has worked in the field of finance since graduating from St. Bonaventure University in 1990, with a degree in Finance.

A resident of Bergen County since 1986, Robert has worked with numerous charities and served as the VP on the Board of the North Jersey Philharmonic. He currently volunteers as a softball, basketball and t-ball coach within the Mahwah Recreational Department. He has volunteered as a soccer, basketball, baseball, and girls’ softball coach in Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes and Glen Rock. He is a parishioner at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ.  Robert and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Mahwah with their four children.
